Step 1 is Optional, someone confirmed it also works without resetting the device
1. I reset my phone (go to Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset)
2. after restoring go to Settings > Application > check Unknown sources
3. then Settings > Application > Development > check USB Debugging
4. go to Market search and install Superuser App (its a freeware)
5. go to Market search and install for any file manager/explorer of your choice (freeware)
6. download this ( http://db.tt/kO7yvIT ) and transfer it to your sdcard
7. open the File Manager you installed and look for the app you transfered ("Gingerbreak-v1.20-1.apk") then tap the file to install
8. RUN the app (BUT MAKE SURE THAT AN SDCARD IS INSERTED AND USB DEBUGGING IS CHECKED)
9. inside the Gingerbreak app tap "ROOT" wait for the process to finish ( its NORMAL that along the process the sdcard sez unmount)
10. just wait
11. the phone will reboot if the rooting is successfull
12. it will take a while before phone reboots congratulations!! you have now successfully rooted your phone to confirm try to install a rooted app or simply install root checker fromm the Market.
13. CREDITS SHOULD GO TO THE DEVELOPER OF THE APP (Android Exploid Crew and CHAINFIRE) THANKS!!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1044765 BUY HIM A BEER!!!!
HOPE ROM DEVELOPMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON!!!
NOTE: After rooting the device i installed system app remover (paid app) to remove the preinstalled apps/games/etc to free some space and everything went fine.
BEWARE: Ive tried system restore via Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset after root and system app remover and as expected, it did remove all the deleted system apps. Since procedures on how to flash the phone and default firmware link is still unknown, BE VERY CAREFUL on using system app remover coz you might remove apps/processes that is needed for android to boot or you'll end up BRICKED!!
